West Bridgford

Welcome to the West Bridgford u3a website.

Please have a good look round to find out all about us and we hope to see you at a meeting soon.

West Bridgford - views of the main shopping area and park. We have more coffee shops than you can count and you could visit a different one every day for a month and another would pop up.

Don't know what the u3a is? Then perhaps the central u3a can answer that question: Do Something Brilliant Today.

We also have a Facebook page at West-Bridgford-u3a

General information

We are based in the Baptist Church Hall at the junction of Musters Rd and Melton Rd; here you will find us engaged in a variety of activities throughout the months. Every day there is a busy programme of activities many of which are held in the Church Hall but we also use other venues to suit the group size.

A modest annual subscription, £15 p.a. (2024) is supplemented by some groups charging a minimum fee for hall usage and any other expenses they incur, the charge for Singing for Fun for example is £1. Where activities are not held in a fee charging place (a members home for example) then a small contribution for refreshments or photocopying might be made, but more often than not there is no charge.

More than 60 different groups provide the activities, all led by volunteers from the West Bridgford u3a, group numbers vary but with a membership of more than 700 the aim is to ensure we try to provide as many different things as possible to suit everyone.

Welcome to you, if you are an existing member, this site should provide up to date information on current events; if you are considering joining our u3a do look to see what is on offer and if you wish to ask specific questions these can be answered by a committee member or group leader all of whom have provided contact information. You can email questions to specific people using the contact page Contact.

Both national and regional u3as offer activities for you to join.

There are several u3a's in the Nottingham area, any which have a web page can be found on the link page.

Like many u3a's we are a Registered Charity No. 1130962, this enables us to recover the Gift Age amount included in your annual membership. Being a charity means we do not make a 'profit', all groups are self financing and must be solvent at all times.
